Peter E. Carlson, Jr.

President, CIC, CAPI, CPRM

Peter began his insurance career after graduating from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Business Administration. As Agency President, Peter focuses his expertise in advising successful individuals, families and business owners in all lines of insurance.

Peter has served on the Agent’s Advisory Council for numerous insurance companies over the years lending his expertise to better serve their mutual clients’ needs. Peter is a licensed Property & Casualty Agent and Broker and a Life & Health Agent. He is a member of The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) and a Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) through the National Alliance, as well as a Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance (CAPI) through Wharton’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education. Peter holds series 7 and series 63 securities licenses.

Peter currently serves on the boards of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, the Metro New York North Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association, and the Fairfield Business Network.  He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Greenwich Country Club, the Leadership Council for the Greenwich YWCA, and a past President of the Greenwich Jaycees.

Donald M. “Tripp” Freeman, III

Executive Vice President, CAPI

Donald M. “Tripp” Freeman, III, joined Carlson & Carlson in 2003, bringing a decade of work in the Financial Advisory and Risk Management business with him. At Carlson & Carlson, he serves as Treasurer and Executive Vice President as well as a Producer for Property & Casualty, Life, Health, LTC and Group Benefits, and works closely with CPA’s, Attorney’s and Financial Advisor’s to ensure clients’ assets are protected appropriately. He is a member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association (PIA) and earned the Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance (CAPI) designation through Wharton’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education. Tripp is a licensed Property & Casualty Agent and Broker and a Life & Health Agent.

Tripp is a 1993 graduate of DePauw University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He is active in community service organizations and has served on the boards of directors of River House (Greenwich Adult Day Care), Rocky Point Club and the 1st Congregational Church of Darien. Tripp is currently serving on the Board at DePauw University and Stamford Branch of the World Affairs Forum while continuing to volunteer with many local charities.

Karl A. Hussey

Vice President, CAPI, CPRM

Karl joined Carlson & Carlson in 2013 and is now serving as one of the firm’s three managing partners. He is a licensed Property & Casualty, Life, Travel/Accident & Health broker and producer. He holds a Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance (CAPI) and Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) professional designation.

Karl has a BFA from the University of Arizona and was born & raised in Tucson, AZ. His creative background allows him to uniquely identify, measure & mitigate risk while envisioning new possibilities and solutions for his successful clients.
